Purpose
The Life Safety Units (LSU) are specialized units for firefighter rehabilitation, found in strategic locations throughout Hennepin County. The current departments that have an LSU are:
- Eden Prairie Fire Department
- Excelsior Fire Department
- Golden Valley Fire Department
- Mound Fire Department
- Richfield Fire Department
- Rogers Fire Department
- Saint Louis Park Fire Department
- West Metro Fire Department
LSU’s are placed in the box alarm system, to automatically be paged. This is typically the second and fourth alarm, and the specific LSU’s are those that are not normal mutual aid agencies to the respective fire department.
